Cripplegate Food Fund Volunteer Training Programme 2025-26

We’re delighted to share that Voluntary Action Islington (VAI) has launched the Cripplegate Food Fund Volunteer Training Programme, a year-long initiative designed to support volunteers and staff working in food aid and community food services across the borough. The programme is funded by the Cripplegate Food Fund and developed in collaboration with local food providers, offering practical and high-quality training tailored to the needs of the sector.

This exciting programme includes a range of free courses and workshops throughout the year, from food hygiene and trauma-informed practice to volunteer recruitment and active signposting. It’s a great opportunity for volunteers and their colleagues to enhance their skills, build confidence and strengthen the support they offer in our local food system.

At the Islington Food Partnership, we’re proud to be supporting this work by helping to share it across our network of local food organisations and partners. We know that strong training and development opportunities make a real difference to volunteers and the people they support — and we’re excited to help connect our members with this valuable programme.
