Partnership Working through the Food Aid Providers Community of Practice (CoP) has Produced a Series of Resources Now Available for VCSE Organisations within the IFP and Beyond.
Recent partnership workign between Octopus Community Network, Manor Gardens Welfare Trust, Help On Your Doorstep and Voluntary Action Islington, developed into a series of workshops – the Food Aid Providers’ Community of Practice (CoP). Out of these sessions, which hbrought together a wide range of expertise and diverse representation from the sector, have now been produced a set of key framework materials…
(1) The Standards Framework
The Standards Framework has been developed as a tool to be used by Food Aid providers across Islington, to ensure we are working towards shared goals. The Community of Practice used their experience from their food provision settings to create the standards, and gained feedback from colleagues, volunteers, service users and other organisations throughout the process.
The framework should be used by food providers as a self-assessment tool, where providers can understand where their provision is, and where improvements can be made. Providers are likely to be at different stages, and have different priorities, but the framework provides a starting point for understanding these priorities, and working towards improvements, as an ongoing process.

(2) Internal and Outward-Facing Charters
Additionally to the Framework above, the group developed 2 charters, designed to supplement the Standards Framework by inviting providers to make a range of commitments that support a more dignified service provision.
