The Islington Food Partnership is excited announce the launch of a new Volunteering Programme – Food Advocates – which is aiming to engage local residents in raising awareness of food justice issues, sharing your views and lived experience, and contribute to shaping local support and policy

Who Can Volunteer?
We welcome community members from all backgrounds, especially those with lived experiences of:
- Food insecurity or poverty
- Poor housing or disability
- Inequality or marginalisation
You don’t need formal qualifications – just a passion for a fairer Islington and a willingness to listen, learn and take action.
What Will You Do?
As an IFP Advocate, you’ll:
- Share vital food access info with your networks
- Signpost residents to local support services
- Help shape borough-wide food planning through Community Voices sessions
- Represent your community in local forums and events
- Receive training in food systems, climate, and community engagement
